Caught off the shores of the Sannin Region, the snow crab is a well-known winter delicacy, especially in the Sea of Japan coastal regions. To ensure the high quality of crabs, the crabs are marked with colored tags to differentiate the rank, age and price. We recommend trying many different preparations of snow crab including boiled, raw, grilled, and in the quintessential Japanese winter meal, kani-nabe (crab hot pot).

Tottori's port, Sakai-minato catches the most tuna in all of Japan, so if you are visiting Tottori, eating the fresh "maguro" tuna is a must. Tuna caught in the Sakai-minato area is said to have a velvety, rich texture and is excellent raw in sashimi or sushi and also steamed or fried.

With hot summers and ocean breezes, Tottori watermelon is cultivated in the middle of the prefecture in Hokuei-cho. The sweet, juicy watermelon is perfect for a hot summer day and is a popular summer snack.
Season : July~August
The main season of pears are from August to October.
The most famous brand of pears are nijyusseiki Nashi (twenty century pears) in Tottori. It's sweet, juicy and delicious.
